National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2018 started September 9th and ended September 15th. Each year during this week, Americans are encouraged to take the time to recognize and appreciate all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment (ATA). Many are not aware of how demanding and important their job is, but without truck drivers, stores would run out of merchandise, access to food and water would diminish, trash would pile up, and the world as we know it would come to a halt.

On Monday and Tuesday, LoadDelivered was thrilled to visit major truck stops in the Greater Chicago area to meet these unsung heroes face-to-face and thank them for their service. We proudly presented the drivers we met with gift cards, LoadDelivered gear to sport on the road, a chance to win a brand-new Apple Watch, and more. “It’s so nice to be appreciated every once in a while,” driver Dan Duorak said at one of the truck stops we visited. “We don’t get it very much, so thank you”. Our drivers deserve to be celebrated year-round, but it was our privilege to take our appreciation one step further this week.

In addition to visiting the truck stops, we created a social media campaign called “Driver of the Day” to spotlight some of the drivers in our network that truly go above and beyond. We were excited to use this opportunity to let our drivers share their stories behind the wheel and remind them of how thankful we are for their partnership and the important work they do on the road every day.

To all LoadDelivered drivers, whether you are new to moving our freight or have done so for years, your contribution and hard work have helped us build trust with some of the largest shippers in North America. We are grateful for all that you do and look forward to many more years of partnership.
