Is Supply Chain Visibility Important to You?
Through our experience, we have noticed improving visibility is a high priority for many supply chain leaders. In fact, a May 2011 study by Capgemini found that improving supply chain visibility was one of the most important initiatives for executives, with 45 percent of respondents putting it at the top of their list.
Given past market volatility and an uncertain future, many of our customers are looking for dependable transportation providers who can offer the visibility needed to analyze and plan accordingly.
If this has not been a top priority of yours, it may be a good idea to refresh your approach and ensure your providers offer some of the following capabilities:
For the customer:
- Online tracking capabilities – You can track your shipments in real time by logging into our system from anywhere. Our mapping capabilities enable clients to see exactly where a shipment is located at any given time.
- Accounting – With our website, users can view all account-related documents online. You can download PODs, invoices, accessorials and pull AR reports.
- Customized reporting tools – Our software provides clients with the opportunity to collect and analyze past data to help predict future trends.
For the carrier:
- Available load board – This gives approved carriers the ability to view, search and bid on our available freight.
- Settlement center – By using this feature, carriers can check payment status and retrieve current and past settlement information.
Upward Bound
While it has only been 11 months since Load Delivered moved into a new loft space in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, the first floor was just the beginning. After another year of significant growth, we are excited to announce that we will soon also occupy the second floor at 750 N. Orleans.
The expansion will give us an additional 5,000 square feet to be utilized for accounting, human resources, marketing, a new state-of-the art training room and additional sales and conference space.
In order to prepare for our anticipated growth in 2012, we will also be performing renovations on the first floor in the upcoming months.
Due to our commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, our business is continuing to grow. At Load Delivered, we think it’s important to comfortably accommodate both current and future employees, as well as provide a space that is conducive to exceeding our clients’ expectations.
Getting Connected
While our current technology offerings are valuable resources to our clients, we believe in continuous innovation. We are committed to remaining the technology frontrunner in our industry and staying ahead of the game - not keeping up with it.
For this reason, we have teamed up with the Illinois Technology Association (ITA). The driving force behind the growth of Illinois’ vibrant technology industry, ITA’s goal is to foster collaboration among those in the diverse industry to encourage success for all companies involved.
Hoodies Delivered
With winter looming around the corner and the weather dipping down into freezing temperatures, we decided to hit our closets and help those in need. Recently, we challenged our employees to donate some much-needed warm clothing to the homeless throughout Chicagoland.
For our first annual “Hoodie Drive,” we have focused on collecting hoodies and additional warm clothing for the homeless. Once the drive is finished and we have tallied our collection, Load Delivered will match whatever was brought in by purchasing just as many new items at Target. The clothing will then be distributed to local food banks and homeless shelters throughout the city.
If you’d like to get involved and help others stay warm during the holiday season, here are some tips on how you can help: http://www.ehow.com/how_10125_donate-clothing-homeless.html.
